The ACTION Heel & Elow Pads are recommended for users who are 'at risk' or diagnosed with compromised skin disorders. It's designed to reduce the risk of pressure ulcers by reducing shear that may affect skin integrity.
Using these pads allows users to continue daily activities and to sleep comfortably as they provide cushioning. It should also be used for any procedure that is lengthy and involves pressure on the user's heel area.
Made from a material called Akton viscoelastic polymer, it looks and feels like a gel and won't leak, flow or absorb fluids nor bottom out under heavy loads. It's the equivalent of tissue as it moves with the user, not against them.
Additionally the polymer will not support microbiological growth and is easy to clean with standard disinfectant. The pads are sealed by a waterproof film and secured in place with a soft adjustable velcro strap.
Requires no laundering and can be wiped over with antispetic solution or mild detergent.
